In the midst of ongoing challenges in Nigeria, it’s a joy to remember that the Lord is quietly at work—bringing hope, growth, and unexpected fruit. We’re excited to share that Alpha With Angela is now being used there!

One consultant recently shared that three of the Bible translation teams he works with are now learning Greek using these lessons. Consultant David Rowbory writes:

"It is a great answer to prayer, as we wanted good source language learning—but seminaries don’t teach useful Greek mostly. Having started with studying discourse in natural texts in their languages, we now have some terms and tools to help us talk about the Greek too. Thank you so much for your efforts."

One of the teams David mentors has now made it past Lesson 20. Their practice is to watch each lesson together three times—first for an overview, then twice more with pauses for discussion and reflection. This collaborative approach is helping them deeply engage with the Greek and think critically about how it compares with structures in their own languages for translation.

One especially touching story comes from Mrs Lami, a translator and grandmother from a small rural village. So inspired by the videos, she began gathering local children around her to teach them Greek! The children in this photo are from another Ashɛ village, but they capture the same spirit—children eager to learn alongside the translation team.

We are deeply encouraged by these stories. They remind us that God is using Alpha With Angela in ways we could never have orchestrated. Please continue to pray for these teams in Nigeria as they study Koine Greek to support their Bible translation work.
