What is your role in Bible Translation (or nature of your connection to WSA)? Tell us a bit about what you do

Bonifacio:
I am the head of the Translation Services department. My role is to come up with a strategic plan for the Translation Services domain and its respective implementation here in southern Africa. I am also the main translation consultant for 5 translation projects, namely: the Himba in Namibia; Marenje, CD cluster, eMarrevoni, and eSaka in Mozambique.

Busie:
I am currently moving into a qualified language consultant role. I will be training local translators to discover how their language functions, and I will be checking language issues in the translation.

Tell us a bit about your family

We are married with two daughters and two sons.

What is something you enjoy about being part of WSA and/or Bible Translation?

Bonifacio:
I enjoy seeing a translation project through from the very first meeting with the language community to the handing over of the translated material to the impact partner.

Busie:
I enjoy doing language analysis, which is part of translation work, counselling, and journeying with others as they face the reality of life.
