What is your background and experience? Tell us a bit about yourself

I hail from rural Eastern Cape but I have been living in Johannesburg and the Free State for most of my school years. I got into church ministry very early on in my life and have been involved in church ministry for over 11 years in various capacities. I served as an Associate Pastor at Godfirst East Rand in Benoni, and I am passionate about the local church and the mission of God to see His people saved and transformed forever. I also believe strongly in godly church leadership, leadership that seeks to disciple, engage and grow God’s people in their relationship with God and His mission. My world also involved being a salesman for 5 years – I worked in the construction world as a salesman for 2 years, then ventured into working for a multi-national company that deals in safety equipment for mining, oil and gas, food and beverage and the health industries.

What is your role in Bible Translation? Tell us a bit about what you'll be doing

My Job at Wycliffe South Africa is to mobilise funding for the organisation by engaging existing relationships with foundations, organisations and church movements, and establish new relationships with these organisations. The aim is to partner with Christians and Christian businesses to see many nations exposed to the Word of God in their mother tongue.

What are some of your hobbies and interests?

I love watching soccer and national rugby, and I am also quite a music enthusiast – I play a few instruments.

Tell us a bit about your family

I am married to a gorgeous and smart woman: Dimakatso. We have a wonderful son, Oagile Lesedi Luyolo, who is now 9. We love being outdoors whether it’s the bush or the beach - we enjoy these considerably.  We believe that we are called as a family unit to make a difference in the lives of  those around us and so loving people is a priority for us.

What is something you enjoy/are looking forward to about being part of WSA/Bible Translation?

I enjoy the family atmosphere at WSA, and I love the interest people take in each other’s lives – that speaks my heart. I look forward to learning about the details of what goes into translations and doing my part to ensure that projects go on and new projects come to be.
