What is your role in Bible Translation (or nature of your connection to WSA)? Tell us a bit about what you do
Tom:
I am a Bible translation consultant working closely with Bible translators all across Africa helping them to produce high quality translation work.
Sharon:
I am an exegetical advisor, helping translators understand the meaning of the Scriptures and the first century world of the Bible.
Tell us a bit about your family
Our eldest son Travis lives with his wife Sydney in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. Our youngest son Jordan lives with us in Cape Town.
What are some of your hobbies and interests?
Tom:
Going on an African safari and photographing God’s amazing creatures is one of our all-time favourite activities.
Sharon:
Reading is one of my oldest hobbies. Researching DNA matters is my newest hobby. Going on Safari remains a family activity that fills all of us with joy.
What is something you enjoy about being part of WSA and/or Bible Translation?
Tom:
I like working and fellowshipping with African translators and I am inspired by their dedication and sacrifice.
Sharon:
Bible translation has always been something that has been to me an essential part of building a local body of believers who rely on the Scriptures and not traditions of men. Being able to do this in Africa is an added blessing as that is where my soul is always at home.
