What is your role in Bible Translation (or nature of your connection to WSA)? Tell us a bit about what you do

I joined Wycliffe SA at the beginning of 2022 as part of the Media & Communications team. I help maintain our social media presence and am involved in the marketing for key events. Media and communications is about developing and maintaining a relationship between the organisation and the public. We are the ones who receive internal information from different departments and are the channel through which this is shared with our partners.

Tell us a bit about your family

I am married to Christian Franciscus de Bruijn.

What are some of your hobbies and interests?

I’m a singer and performer; I studied Popular Music and I’m a trained Jazz vocalist and recording artist, with three albums and a few awards back home in Botswana. I also love to cook.

What is something you enjoy about being part of WSA and/or Bible Translation?

I love the praying spirit amongst the team and the fact that they continuously encourage that we put God first in the center of everything that we do, be it personal or professional, and I love the fact that the WSA team become more your family than just colleagues. I also enjoy learning about the different ethnic languages that I never knew existed. I'm excited about the fact that I am part of an organisation that is making sure all these people receive the Gospel in a language they understand and can therefore receive the message without any language barriers.
