What is your background and experience? Tell us a bit about yourself

I have many years experience in the IT industry, specifically in the areas of Director of Operations, project management, support desk management, system implementations, analysis, software development, training, R&D, methodology development and performance data analysis.

I have strong relationship-building abilities, which together with my management skills and aptitude for lateral thinking and solving complex problems have enabled me to support customers across the world in implementing new solutions in highly competitive industries. I am so excited to see how God is going to use these skills He’s given me to further His Kingdom in the Bible Translation world.

What is your role in Bible Translation? Tell us a bit about what you'll be doing

Carol has come on board as the Senior Field Coordinator. Together with the Hub Field Coordinators, she will be assisting the projects in the field, liaising between the field and prayer teams, Wycliffe South Africa and the funders, and ensuring all projects run smoothly and are covered in prayer. 

What are some of your hobbies and interests?

I have recently started crocheting. I love walking, reading, gardening, cooking and baking, and fostering puppies from the local animal shelter.

Tell us a bit about your family

I have been married to Mark for almost 20 years. I have a 16 year old son (grade 11) and 15 year old daughter (grade 9). We also have three dogs. We live in the beautiful Fish Hoek Valley in Cape Town and are very involved in our children's waterpolo, swimming and life-saving in the summer months.

What is something you enjoy about being part of WSA and/or Bible Translation?

I am loving the joy that permeates everything in WSA and the prayer that covers every meeting and conversation.  I am so looking forward to my first visit to the field and seeing how what we are doing in the background is transforming lives and communities through access to God's word in their heart languages.
