In the south of Angola and north of Namibia are the Ovacilenge, who live extensively in the provinces of Huila, Namibe and Bengela. They live in small communities, villages and groups, and are described as a hospitable and considerate people. They live on subsistence or family farming, and raise animals such as cattle, goats, pigs, and chickens. Their traditional religious beliefs are polytheistic and animistic, worshipping gods of the ancestors and the dead, who are considered to be at the centre of their being. With Bible translation underway, more and more people are getting excited about the God of the Bible.

Pastor Dungodungo said that he and his evangelism team were able to tell some of the Bible narratives in three different communities, at times, to groups of over 100 people. He was very positive about the impact they were having. According to the communities, the fact that the Bible is in their mother languages leads them to know that God loves them and is interested in them personally. This opens the door for the gospel to be presented more effectively in these communities.
