Explore mission in the Bible and today's world, as well as the wide concept of culture. Be equipped to serve others and God's mission.
This training asks the big questions about God's mission - misseo Dei - and and your place in it. You will explore culture and a language group doing Bible translation in southern Africa. The training and resources have been developed and based on a Masters degree in Contemporary Missiology and an undergraduate degree in Biblical and Intercultural Studies.
Minimum: 5 people
Workshop Content
Within the topic of Mission, we look at:
- What is mission?
- The Bible and mission
- Motives for mission
- Further questions to consider
- Jesus as a missionary
Within the topic of Culture, we look at:
- What is culture?
- Worldview and cultural differences
- Crossing cultures
- The Bible and culture
- Contextualisation
Workshop Requirements
- A minimum of 5 participants, preferably including a missions pastor.
- Wycliffe does not currently ask for anything monetary to facilitate the workshop.
- Any drinks or food that is offered during the workshop to be provided by the church.
- Venue with tables and seating available.
- Plain paper, post-it notes, pens, and colouring pencils.
