What is your role in Bible Translation (or nature of your connection to WSA)? Tell us a bit about what you do

I am part of the "Psalms that Sing" team that is now completing the two-year pilot study to develop a new way to translate psalms, based on orality and performance. I have been involved in writing guides for 30 psalms for the workshops, and then in presenting material at workshops of four of the language-groups: Kaaps (Cape town, South Africa), Kom (Cameroon), and Meetto and Koti (Mozambique).

I also continue to do some research into various aspects of Bible Translation and Scripture Engagement. I share my learnings in conferences and journal articles, engaging with others involved in similar pursuits.

Tell us a bit about your family

I am single, with two sisters (and one in heaven), and a number of nieces, nephews and their offspring.

What are some of your hobbies and interests?

I love to swim and garden, I read a lot, and I enjoy certain genres of movie, music, and general performance. I also love to write (including poetry) and to participate in workshops that bring together creative approaches and the biblical text.

What is something you enjoy about being part of WSA and/or Bible Translation?

I enjoy trying to help people engage with the biblical text in ways that are relevant and meaningful to them.
