This site is owned and run by Wycliffe Bible Translation, a trading name of Wycliffe South Africa Bible Translators (referred to in these terms as “Wycliffe Bible Translation”, “we” or “us”). From time to time we may also be referred to as “Wycliffe South Africa” - this is still the same organisation.

Any new features or tools which are added to the current store will also be subject to these terms and conditions.

All personal data which you provide will be treated by us with the utmost security and confidentiality. No personal data will be shared with any third party without your express consent, unless we are required to do so by law or by order of the court.

When you click on links on our website, for example, Facebook, twitter, Instagram, etc. they may direct you away from our site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or policies of other sites and encourage you to read their privacy statements before accessing their sites.

Email Policy

Why do we need your email address? Most importantly we need it to send you information regarding your donation payments etc. Of course we'd also like to keep you up to date on our activities and events happening at Wycliffe Bible Translation. You can change your email settings under your account settings. Just click 'My Account' > 'Settings' > alternatively if you would not like to receive marketing or promotional materials from us, please click the 'unsubscribe' link at the bottom of the email. 

Donations or Payment

We have a range of payment options available through our website to ensure a user friendly experience. Payment may be made via Visa, MasterCard, Diners or American Express credit cards or by bank transfer into Wycliffe Bible Translation’s bank account, the details of which will be provided on request The protection of your account access details remains your responsibility and we urge you to change your passwords from time to time.

In the instance of a returned transactions or incorrect payment references provided, we reserve the right to terminate relevant arrangements or retract said offers that were made. Consequently, all bookings and/or transactions and agreements entered into will cease with immediate effect until such time as any and all outstanding monies are recovered in full.

Wycliffe Bible Translation reserves the right, in the interests of preventing fraud, to refuse processing of payment for any transaction, partially or completely, where there are reasonable grounds to do so, with notice given to you.

Please note: Wycliffe Bible Translation will NEVER ask you to provide sensitive or confidential information via email so please do not provide such information to anyone if asked to do so. 

Payment by credit or debit card

Credit card transactions will be acquired for Wycliffe Bible Translation via PayGate. Payment may be made via Visa, MasterCard, Diners or American Express credit cards or by bank transfer into Wycliffe Bible Translation’s bank account via PayGate (Pty) Ltd who are the approved payment gateway for Standard Bank of South Africa. PayGate uses the strictest form of encryption, namely Secure Socket Layer 3 (SSL3) and no credit card details are stored on the website. Users may go to www.paygate.co.za to view their security certificate and security policy.. When you conduct a transaction, the transaction details are presented to the bank for authorization of the payment amount. If authorization is not obtained the payment is refused and the transaction is cancelled. If authorization is obtained, payment is usually immediate. By offering to make payment by credit or debit card you specifically guarantee that you are fully authorised to use the credit or debit card for payment and that there are sufficient funds in your account to cover the costs of the transaction. 

Customer details separate from card details

Customer details will be stored by Wycliffe Bible Translation separately from card details which are entered by the client on PayGate’s secure site. For more detail on PayGate refer to www.paygate.co.za. 

Payment by EFT and SnapScan

We also accept payment by EFT (electronic funds transfer)and SnapScan. We will start to process your transaction once your bank forwards your payment to us. This may take up to 3 days. 

Merchant outlet country and transaction currency

The merchant outlet country at the time of presenting payment options to the cardholder is South Africa. Transaction currency is South African Rand (ZAR). 

Prohibited uses

In addition to other prohibitions as set forth in these terms and conditions, you are prohibited from using the site or its content: (a) for any unlawful purpose; (b) to solicit others to perform or participate in any unlawful acts; (c) to violate any international, national, provincial or local regulations, rules, laws, or local ordinances; (d) to infringe upon or violate our intellectual property rights or the intellectual property rights of others; (e) to harass, abuse, insult, harm, defame, slander, disparage, intimidate, or discriminate based on gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, race, age, national origin, or disability; (f) to submit false or misleading information; (g) to upload or transmit viruses or any other type of malicious code that will or may be used in any way that will affect the functionality or operation of the service or of any related website, other websites, or the Internet; (h) to collect or track the personal information of others; (i) to spam, phish, pharm, pretext, spider, crawl, or scrape; (j) for any obscene or immoral purpose; (k) the collection or use of any listings, descriptions, or price lists from the Site, for the benefit of a competing merchant that supplies products comparable to those offered on the website; (l) any use or action that imposes an unreasonable or disproportionately large load of traffic on the Site, (m) incorporating any e-mail addresses, names, telephone numbers, and fax numbers published on the website in any database used for electronic marketing or similar purposes; or (n) otherwise interferes with its proper and timely functioning ;to interfere with or circumvent the security features of any related website, other websites, or the Internet. We reserve the right to terminate your use of our site or any related website for violating any of the prohibited uses.

No information on the website may be used for unsolicited communications to Wycliffe Bible Translation. All rights detailed in Section 45 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act are reserved. 

Optional tools

We may provide you with access to third-party tools over which we neither have any control nor input in. You acknowledge and agree that we provide access to such tools “as is” and “as available” without any warranties, representations or conditions of any kind and without any endorsement. This website is offered, controlled and run from the Republic of South Africa. Accordingly, these terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. 

Disputes

Any dispute relating in any way to your visit to our website that cannot be resolved directly between us will be referred to confidential arbitration in Johannesburg, South Africa. Such arbitration will be handled according to the rules then prevailing by the Arbitration Foundation of South Africa. The arbitrator’s award will be final and binding on the parties, save for manifest error and may be made an order of court by any court of competent jurisdiction.
